Tiny Acorns Approach

Tiny Acorns Nursery is owned by Steve and Colette Holt, local parents with two young daughters. They used a variety of childcare before their children began school, whilst juggling busy corporate jobs, and wanted to create a nursery environment that would surpass the expectations of local families. A nursery designed to be strong in all areas of its provision; with the right staff, offering a personal level of care, with a well maintained and equipped environment and a supportive management team. Core to this philosophy was the decision to bring on board Katrina Clements as the Manager. Katrina is highly qualified in all aspects of childcare and has been taking care of children of all ages in the local area for the past 11 years. Together with our team of qualified child carers, our aim is to provide a happy nursery experience for you and your child.

The service we offer is based on the following five principles:

  • Nurturing: A caring, homely environment where each child is able to develop and grow at their own pace, instilled with confidence from an early age.
  • Welcoming: A bright, clean and well maintained environment that provides a fantastic range of high quality equipment and toys, and a large outside space and facilities.
  • Stimulating: A well planned daily schedule that delivers against the latest Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines and requirements, focusing on encouraging each child’s natural development, social behaviour and good manners.
  • Safe: Stringent safety and risk assessment procedures coupled with effective safety measures.
  • Open: Where parents are kept well-informed about their child’s progress via:
    1) Regular interaction with the staff and their child’s key worker.
    2) Access to all the information about the nursery and their child’s individual development as required.
    3) Regular newsletters and communication.
